One Step at a Time by Lily S
ONE STEP AT A TIME
By Jane Jolly&Sally Heinrich
ISBN 978 0 987309 5 1
Ages-6+
One Step At A Time is a emotional book. From start to finish the reader is immersed in sadness and happiness. A baby elephant stepped on a landmine then her world went black. She had lost her leg. Luk, a young boy from the village took care of the baby elephant. Luk prayed for the baby elephant to get better.
The monks came to see the baby elephant and prayed for the elephant too. Luk slept with the baby elephant every night and feed her bananas. The baby elephant tried to walk but kept stumbling and falling.
Even though One Step at a Time is full of sadness it is a book that makes you think about others and find happiness in things that happen that we can't control. .

i thought this was a great review because it is based on a true story and the fact it is a picture book actually makes it harder as there aren't as many events
