Magnus has an everyday teenage life until his mother killed by wolves in a fire and ends up being homeless. Things couldn't get worse until his somewhat wacky uncle Randolph tells him that he's the son of A Norse god and that he's being followed. He finds the sword his father lost thousands of years ago but then gets
killed by a fire giant called Surt, destined to lead an army of giants into Ragnarok. Magnus loses the sword again. He is taken by Odin to Valhalla, the afterlife of the chosen few to fight in his army of Einherjar.
